Here you can find tools and resources part of Work Package 5 “Developing the toolkit” in the EU-funded project “Promoting responsible TWIN transitions in European agrifood systems through innovation and learning alliances” – TWIN-IN project. The TWIN-IN project aims to support the green and digital transition in the agrifood sector by developing and testing a new “Twin Transition Schools” (TTS) model. The model brings together different actors – such as farmers, advisors, students, teachers, researchers, and learners – to learn, innovate, and collaborate on sustainable solutions using digital technologies. Through TTS, participants should build skills in digital tools, sustainability, entrepreneurship, deep tech, resilience, and other life-related competencies.
Twin Transition Schools:
Educational Resources
What are Twin Transition Schools?
What educational tools can you use?
- D5.1 TTS Toolkit: This deliverable contains the pedagogical background and tools which are used in the TTS model. Through a transformative learning approach and a commitment to an inclusive model, you can find lesson activities; games; resources and ideas on how to teach and learn about twin transition in the agrifood sector.
- D5.2 TTS Curricula: This deliverable contains 20 curricula co-designed with educators from across Europe. The curricula are detailed and contain activity ideas in line with D5.1.
- Learning contracts: Developed as a tool to build commitment to learning and teaching, you can use these contracts to set out clear competence-focused learning objectives.
Who can use the Twin Transition Schools Resources?
TTS resources are made for educators and learning managers (including staff representatives and directors) working with learners who are part of one of the following groups: students, farmers, farm advisors, researchers, startups, HEI teachers, and VET teachers. The guide is cross-sectoral, drawing from adult learning and education (ALE) practices but effectively applicable in higher education (HE), Vocational Education and Training (VET), and formal and non-formal ALE training. While it is designed with the TWIN-IN project in mind and hence provides examples in the agrifood industry, the activities can be applied to any sector facing rapid digital transformation in the face of the green transition, or any sector facing economic or societal transformation.

How to use the resources:
a step-by-step guide
STEP 1
Read the D5.1 guide on TTS
This guide will help you to identify learner needs and provide activity ideas and resources rooted in non-formal learning methodologies and participant engagement. Accessible at: https://project-twinin.eu/deliverables/
STEP 2:
Read the D5.2 TTS Curricula
There are 20 pre-made courses about the twin transition, designed for the context of building skills for the twin transition in the agrifood industry. Many of these courses are transferable to other contexts. You can also build your own, using the curricula design to help you frame the aspects of learning (objectives, competences, evaluation etc.) You can be inspired by D4.2 “Future Related Skills” which outlines a new unified competence framework needed for the agrifood sector facing the twin transition. Accessible at: https://project-twinin.eu/deliverables/
STEP 3:
Look at the learning contract templates and design your own
Once you have selected the courses that you would like to teach, it is a good idea to create a learning contract to structure the learning and your expectations from learners. You can find downloadable documents here: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1y3TT0EIQ5sMArP3LVS5mAAaY8aUJ_JiI There is a filled in English template for the learning contract. There are also filled in versions in Greek, Romanian, Italian and Spanish. You can adapt these to your own contexts and according to your courses.
