Adult Learning and Education for the Twin Transition

Brief description

The ALE4TT project runs from 2023- 2025 and is co-financed by MOVETIA. The ALE4TT project will support ALE organisations in better communicating, advocating and developing strategies to convince third parties such as policymakers why ALE has a crucial role to play in a just transition process. It will also support them in building a wider network with diverse allies from the broader digital and green community. 

The main outputs of the project are:

  • An international training programme on ALE and the twin transition, co-created with participants from ALE organisations
  • An advocacy toolkit bringing together case studies and methods that can support ALE providers in advocating ALE in the twin transition.

AGRIFOOD4FUTURE

Acronym: AGF4F

Brief description

AgriFood4Future is an Erasmus+ project that aims to develop vocational training skills and educational programmes that meet the needs of the “agriculture of the future”.

This mission can be divided into 3 operational objectives:

  • AgriFood4Future will contribute to the transformation of the agri-food sector towards digitalisation, decarbonisation and sustainability.
  • AgriFood4Future will support the large-scale implementation of new and emerging agriculture practices, such as climate-smart agriculture, precision agriculture, regenerative and organic practices.

AGRIFOODSKILLS

A Strategic Community of Practice and Observatory for the Agrifood Pact for Skills

Acronym: AGRIFOODSKILLS

Brief description

AGRIFOODSKILLS contributes to a strategic development of the community of practice among the members of the Agrifood Pact for Skills (Agrifood P4S) to reskilling and upskilling the workforce in the plant and animal production, agrifood and veterinary sectors, with innovative content (deep tech, AI, future foods, digital and green skills), considering the outcomes of past blueprint projects.

AGRIFOODSKILLS project aims to act as a backbone for the Agrifood P4S, by sharing the outcomes generated by the project to the members of the community of practice. Long term sustainability of the action is guaranteed by the Observatory, a virtual light but effective structure organised in working groups that will bring forward the activities carried in the project with a strong connection with the members of the Pact.

Smart Specialisation Skills Ecosystems for the Twin Transition

Acronym: SKYLA

Brief description

SKYLA is an Interreg Europe project. The SKYLA partnership, representing eight regions—Tuscany, Podlaskie, Skåne, Sofia, Fingal, Provence-Alpes-Côte D’Azur, and Lithuania—aims to tackle this. They seek to enhance VET’s role in innovation ecosystems, strengthen links between SMEs and VET providers, and boost regional capacity to anticipate and meet skills needs.

SKYLA helps public authorities prioritize future skills for smarter, resilient growth by strengthening VET’s role in innovation ecosystems and specialization strategies. It promotes interregional learning to modernize VET, explores policy solutions, designs policies to integrate skills into the twin transition, and uses local resources to implement and monitor improvements.

European Open Badge Passport for Climate

Acronym: OpenPass4Climate

Brief description

OpenPass4Climate emerges against the backdrop of escalating global concerns about climate change, particularly among citizens and students. The project responds to the urgent need to empower students to actively manage their learning and commitments related to climate action.

Motivated by a growing wave of environmental consciousness, as highlighted in surveys and reports such as the Eurobarometer “Future of Europe 2021” and initiatives like Unite Students in the UK, OpenPass4Climate seeks to harness the enthusiasm and dedication of the younger generation.

BOOSTing agribusiness acceleration

and digital hub networking by an advanced training program on sustainable Precision Agriculture

BOOST is an Erasmus+ project that aims to boost agribusiness acceleration and digital hub networking by providing a sophisticated training program for the application of sustainable Precision Agriculture (PA) methodologies on management, agripreneurship, marketing, networking, and digital transformation delivered through an innovative educational and networking platform.

The SmARTIES project takes on an innovation ecosystem approach to explore the key elements of transition, focusing on the role of digitalization in affecting agricultural practices, knowledge systems and sustainable innovation.

Acronym: CODECS

Brief description

CODECS is a four-year Horizon Europe project that gathers 33 partners all around Europe and which is coordinated by the University of Pisa. The project aims to improve the motivation and the capacity of European farmers to understand and adopt digitalisation as an enabler of sustainable and transformative change.

CODECS will develop, and turn into concepts, methods, tools, evidence, a vision of “sustainable digitalisation” with the goal of improving the collective capacity to understand, assess and foresee the full range of benefits and costs of farm digitalisation, and to build digital ecosystems that maximise the net benefits of digitalisation.

Female-Led Innovation

Brief description

The FLIARA project aims to create a European wide rural innovation ecosystem, which supports women-led innovative practices in farming and rural areas.

The project is on a mission to create a more sustainable future by highlighting the role of women in agriculture and rural areas. FLIARA will boost understanding of the needs and challenges facing women leading innovative environmental and rural development practices in EU farming and rural areas.

Enabling Gender Equality

in Agricultural and Environmental Innovation

Acronym: GENNOVATE

Brief description

GENNOVATE is a community of practice within the CGIAR Collaborative Platform for Gender Research. A global comparative research initiative, GENNOVATE addresses the question of how gender norms and agency influence men, women, and youth to adopt innovation in agriculture and natural resource management (NRM). Carried out across 137 rural communities in 26 countries, this qualitative comparative study aims to provide authoritative “bottom-up” research to advance gender-transformative approaches and catalyze change in international agricultural and NRM research for development.

In discussion groups and individual interviews, more than 7,500 rural study participants of different socioeconomic backgrounds and age groups reflect on and compare local women’s and men’s expected roles and behaviors — or gender norms — and how these social rules affect their ability to access, adopt, adapt, and benefit from innovations in agricultural and natural resource management.

Assessment and implementation

of Agriculture and Life Science Universities’ first Gender Equality Plans in widening countries

Acronym: AGRIGEP

Brief description

The AGRIGEP project, with the joint efforts of six consortium partners, aims to perform a responsible assessment of widening RPOs’ current status on GEP implementation, improve capabilities through intensive capacity building, and develop and implement an agriculture and life-science targeted GEP with sectorial specific measures and strategies. These results could lead to long-term institutional reforms.

Additionally, this project works to establish the inclusion of GE issues within the RPOs’ educational system and professional training of students. The realisation of these objectives and the implementation of inclusive GEPs will enhance the inclusiveness, reputation, attractiveness, and research excellence of widening country RPOs. Moreover, it will promote the transformation of institutions and advance GE within the ERA as well.

Brief description

The strategic objective of PRO-CLIMATE is to support communities to proactively adapt to climate change through social transformation and behavioural change. To achieve this, PRO-CLIMATE will identify social tipping points and policy actions that enable systemic transformation to be achieved across social systems.

Cooperation for Upskilling

and Building Regional Ecosystems in Sustainable Precision Viticulture

Acronym: VTskills

Brief description

The project’s aim is to promote the adoption of environmentally, socially, and economically responsible practices in the viticulture industry. The project’s goals align with those of the Green Deal, PAC, Farm to Fork, and Biodiversity strategies. Sustainable Precision Viticulture (SPV) combines Precision Agriculture and organic farming, enabling efficient technological use while maintaining a healthy agricultural environment.

The project will create a new, transnational curriculum in viticulture studies that offers digital, green, and resilience skills to train HEI students, VET learners, consultants, managers, technicians, and farmers on SPV.

Carbon Farming Alliance

Acronym: C-FARMING

Brief description

C-FARMING is a three-year project co-funded by the European Union under Erasmus+ Programme, KA2: Cooperation Among Organizations and Institutions: Alliances for Innovation (Agreement Number: 101187696 — C-Farming — ERASMUS-EDU-2024-PI-ALL-INNO). 

C-Farming aspires to foster the uptake of the Carbon Farming green business model, by upscaling the green, digital,net positive entrepreneurial, transversal and resilience skills of current and prospective farming practitioners, agriculture professionals, agriculture students and HE/VET educators, in a holistic and meta-innovative way, enabling them to serve as catalysts and facilitators of agriculture sustainable development within Europe and beyond its borders.
