TWIN-IN at the EAEA Annual Conference 2026 on Resilience and Community-Building

On June 8-9 2026, 120 ALE educators and practitioners gathered in Warsaw, Poland, to discuss Resilience and Community-Building in the adult learning community. The event, organised by EAEA (the European Association for the Education of Adults) and sTOP (NGO Trainers’ Association Poland) focused on the concept of resilience, from an individual to a societal perspective.

Are ALE centres ready for the twin transition?

During the conference, an interactive stand presenting EAEA’s digital and green initiatives was present, focusing on the readiness of ALE centres to adapt to new social, economic and technological realities. At this stand, TWIN-IN was presented as a best practice at the conference by Charlotte Ede, Learning and Project Coordinator at EAEA. Participants were introduced to TWIN-IN’s innovative approach to gender-equality through participatory ALE methodologies, as well as interactive activities such as exploring the Scaffold Game for a competence-based approach to lesson planning for the twin transition.

Looking at the results of the interactive activity, the result on ALE readiness to adapt to and teach about the twin transition was mixed. Some educators felt ready, others felt they had more imminent issues to address, such as basic digital skills and societal fragmentation. Nonetheless, educators were particularly attracted to the societal and inclusive considerations of TWIN-IN. As keynote speaker Prof.Gałązka, University of Silesia said, “We cannot talk about resilience without discussing inequality, exclusion, social justice and educational accessibility”. In this context, the curriculum development of TWIN-IN will be able to test innovate methods to build more inclusive societies, actively adapting to the twin transition.
